Desert & Delta Safaris is one of the longest-standing and most successful luxury safari operators in Botswana, managing a portfolio of nine premier safari lodges and camps. Seven opulent safari lodges are owned and managed by Desert & Delta Safaris in Botswana and Namibia. Most of these superb estates are located in the renowned game reserves of Botswana, but one lodge—the Chobe Savanna Lodge—is located in Namibia’s Eastern Caprivi Strip, just across the Chobe River.
The Desert & Delta Safaris portfolio, which was founded in 1982, consists of a number of the most illustrious lodges in Botswana, including the legendary Chobe Game Lodge, Savute Safari Lodge, Camp Moremi, Camp Okavango, Xugana Island Lodge, and Leroo La Tau. In addition to delivering the individualized service and attention to detail for which Desert & Delta Safaris is renowned, these lodges together offer an incredibly diverse safari experience throughout Botswana.

Okavango Delta: Home to Camp Okavango (a year-round water-focused paradise on Nxaragha Island), Xugana Island Lodge, and Nxamaseri Island Lodge in the northern panhandle.
Moremi Game Reserve: Features Camp Moremi and Camp Xakanaxa, both famous for land-and-water safari balances along the Khwai River.
Chobe National Park & Savute: Includes the famous, fully solar-powered Chobe Game Lodge on the riverfront and the newly rebuilt, rustic-chic Savute Safari Lodge along the dynamic Savuti Channel.
Makgadikgadi Pans Border: Features Leroo La Tau perched on the cliffs of the Boteti River, showcasing desert adapted wildlife and massive seasonal zebra migrations.
Botswana Safaris
A safari staying at Desert & Delta Safaris lodges offers one of the most cohesive, seamless ways to experience Botswana. Because the company owns properties across all of the country’s major ecosystems, travellers can book an all-inclusive circuit package. You travel effortlessly between lodges using their in-house private charter airline, Safari Air, creating a highly fluid “fly-in” safari.
Namibia Safaris
While Desert & Delta Safaris is predominantly a Botswana-based luxury operator, they own and operate one exclusive property located inside Namibia: Chobe Savanna Lodge. Because Namibia’s Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) borders Botswana directly along the Chobe River, travellers can easily incorporate a high-end Namibian stay into a Desert & Delta circuit.

Our trip to Botswana was marvelous. Each of the three camps we visited were amazing, but Camp Xakanaxa will hold a place in our hearts forever. The manager Mox was attentive and the entire staff was welcoming and helpful. The location right on the Delta was marvelous. Our guide Monti was highly knowledgeable and was able to show us an amazing range of wildlife. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and as a surprise, Mox and team prepared an intimate dinner for us complete with lovely lights leading to our dinner location which was separate from the rest of the guests. We will always remember our special trip to this lovely location. Our room was also fabulous …

Amazing sunsets, Beautifully appointed tent cabins, wonderful staff, quality wines, gourmet meals, nightly firepit blazing and the best guide ever. THABO! He brought Africa to life with his knowledge, genuine love of sharing his country, his smile and stories of his life in Africa. The entire staff made sure we were “home” during our stay.. nightly performance to announce our menu for the evening and warm greetings upon our return from the safari drives.. warm, wet cloths to wipe off the dust and brunch to satisfy the appetite. Thanks to Go2Africa and our friend Sue for giving us the memories!
