The country has a population of 2.5 million people (in 2020), it is the second least densely inhabited country in the world (after Mongolia). Windhoek, the country’s largest city, is located in the country’s central highlands and serves as the capital. English, Ovambo, Khoekhoe, and Afrikaans are the most commonly spoken languages.
