Staying at Boutique Hotel No. 5 in Entebbe for one night to acclimatize is the first leg of this 11-night Great Apes of Uganda safari adventure. After you’ve had a chance to relax after your first long journey into Uganda, it’s on to Kibale for three nights at Ndali Lodge. Kibale is a haven for a wide variety of primates, including the highest population of chimpanzees in Africa. The park is also known for its beautiful butterflies and birds. Your three-night stay at the Kyambura Gorge Lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park begins here. This park is a classic big game spot, with plenty of elephants, lions, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, and crocodiles, in addition to more chimpanzees who like to hang out at the gorge. The Impenetrable Forest of Bwindi is where your journey will next take you. Among the various activities available during your three nights at the Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge are gorilla trekking, hikes to nearby volcanoes, encounters with the indigenous Batwa people, viewing golden monkeys, and excellent birdwatching.

A Detailed 11 Days Great Apes of Uganda Itinerary
Days 1-2: Entebbe
You will be met upon your arrival off your international aircraft and then taken to No. 5 Boutique Hotel to spend your first night adjusting to your new surroundings. The hotel is conveniently located just a 10-minute drive from Entebbe International Airport, making it an ideal gateway to Africa. The rooms are luxurious and tastefully decorated, the meals are mouth-watering, and there’s a pool and spa to relax in before venturing out into nature.
Day 2-5: Kibale National Park
Kibale National Park, Uganda’s “Primate Capital of the World”
Your Great Apes of Uganda journey to Ndali Lodge, a tranquil lakeside refuge in Kibale National Park, will begin after breakfast. During your three nights, you will stay in a picturesque lodge surrounded by verdant hills. The cottages are made of wooden thatch. This place offers a plethora of attractions! A community-based conservation initiative called the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is close by. It’s a haven for monkeys and uncommon species including the White-winged Warbler, White-collared Oliveback, and Papyrus Gonolek. There is a huge chimpanzee population in Kibale National Park, and they are just ready to make off with your valuables. There is an enormous variety of primates here. With its pool, sauna, massages, and yoga, the lodge creates an idyllic setting beside the lake. So, after a long day exploring nature, you may relax and unwind at home.
Days 5-8: Queen Elizabeth National Park
Chimpanzee Trekking in Kyambura Gorge Uganda
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the next stop on your Ugandan adventure; here, you may enjoy a more traditional safari with wide open plains and large animals. The park’s top hotel, Kyambura Gorge Lodge, offers a little extra opulence in a stunning location. Here you may take in breathtaking vistas of the savannah, with the majestic Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. One of the most well-known animals in the area is the tree climbing lion, which is known to occasionally be seen in the branches of fig trees! In addition to mild river cruises and further chimpanzee trekking in a breathtaking gorge, the rooms are large and airy, and the guides are top-notch.
Day 8-11: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Stunning sightings at Rushaga; Bwindi; Uganda Gorilla Trekking
You will spend three nights at the Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge in the breathtaking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, which you will visit the following day. Indulge in the lodge’s culinary delights, attentive service, luxurious accommodations, and breathtaking mountain vistas. You can see some of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas on a walk through the Impenetrable Forest, which begins at Nkuringo. Be ready for a lengthy day because the hike’s length depends on the family’s whereabouts on that particular day. But hanging out with these enormous apes is among the most fulfilling experiences imaginable. Gorilla trekking is the primary attraction, but there are plenty of other things to do in this area as well, such as experiencing the Batwa culture, seeing a variety of birds and butterflies, hiking through old gorges, or even taking a canoe ride on picturesque Lake Mutanda.
