Duba Plains Camp | Okavango Delta, Botswana

Duba Plains Camp is a small camp located in the remote northern region of the Okavango Delta in Botswana. Duba Plains Camp is surrounded by vast grasslands that are abundant in the game and seasonal floodplains. The camp, which can only be reached by light aircraft, is well known for its resident lion pride and their never-ending conflicts with the numerous buffalo that roam the area.

These enormous lions are renowned for their ability to hunt during the day and to swim in the permanent waterways that flow between the islands that dot the landscape. However, they are not the only animals that call this place home. Visitors can go on day and night game drives as well as motorboat excursions in search of red lechwe, impala, kudu, tsessebe, and vast herds of elephants. There is no set schedule, so visitors can take their time getting to know the area.

The five tent rooms and the Duba Plains Suite, which overlook the extensive floodplains, are shaded by enormous mangosteen and fig trees. The tents’ airy couches and big windows offer relief from the heat, while a private balcony lets visitors see the local fauna. Enjoy the camp’s executive chefs’ delectable African food while sipping a prize-winning South African wine.
