Day 5: Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Explore the crater floor of this extinct, collapsed volcano by descending 2,000 feet. The amount of fauna concentrated here will astound you. Gazelle graze calmly among zebra and wildebeest, and you could see an endangered rhino eating down near the lake. Before returning to your camp, treat yourself to a nice picnic meal.

Day 6: Serengeti National Park

Take a short flight over the Serengeti, which means “endless plains” in Maasai. Arrive at your luxury tented camp in the Serengeti in time for an afternoon game drive. While the exact timing is difficult to predict, this is where almost two million wildebeest, half a million Thomson’s gazelle, and a quarter-million zebra congregate for annual migrations, attracting huge predators such as lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyena.
