A Detailed Tanzania vs Uganda vs South Africa vs Botswana vs Zambia Itinerary

Days 1-4: The Serengeti

Great wildebeest migration crossing the Mara River between Masai Mara and Serengeti

Meeting Andrew upon your arrival in Africa will set the stage for your flight into the northern Serengeti, where the world-famous Great Migration crossings take place. Northern Serengeti is an adrenaline rush, and rich pride heartlands are a given. Among the many mobile camp operators, Wayo Serengeti Green Camp is a relative newbie. Located in quiet, ideal spots, you can start your day with a professional walking safari or skip the crowds and go right to the river and its bridges. The park has been rocked by the value of this brilliantly planned mobile camp. Air camping in “star tents” is another option; it’s one of the most authentic ways to experience Africa. You will be escorted by Jean du Plessis, who is both the creator of Wayo Africa and renowned as one of the top Serengeti guides. In addition to her role as Head of Tanzania for Wilderness Safaris, Jean now wears two hats. He has a history of hiring people from the surrounding villages and turning them into professional tour guides; his expertise and walking skills are also well-known.

Days 5-7: Bwindi

Exploring Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Your next stop will be the Bwindi Forest in Uganda, home to the mountain gorillas, after your Serengeti safari. While it’s well-known that no guidebook suggests staring at a gorilla, nothing beats the thrill of being in the middle of a family group. When you stay at Buhoma Lodge in the middle of Bwindi, morning treks are the main thing to do. Many tour operators consider the Buhoma sector to be the pinnacle of gorilla habitats in all of Africa. There will be two trips (each unique) before we fine-tune your afternoons. More than 200 different kinds of butterflies and 350 different kinds of birds call this forest home. Bwindi is no exception. We will visit Gladys Kalema-Zikusoka’s Research Clinic and meet with Gladys herself; Andrew will lead treks to explore the jungle.

Days 8-11: Lower Zambezi National Park

Treasures of the Lower Zambezi

Travelling from Uganda to Zambia’s capital, Lusaka, and then on to the Lower Zambezi National Parks will require your longest flight. If given the chance, our company’s founder Julian would “go on safari to tomorrow” in the Zambezi Valley, his beloved locale. And the campsite? A private island awaits you at Chula Island Lodge, where you may have an unforgettable adventure in the great outdoors at a small, rustic camp. Once again, you will be treated to breathtaking views of big game animals as you explore an island in the middle of the Zambezi River. Experience the epitome of adventurous Africa in one of Chula’s one-of-a-kind chambers. With sides that are practically net walls, you can gaze out into the bush in every direction, day or night. Private guide and owner Kyle Branch is well-known as one of the top guides in the world. He will be your guide here. A safari camp showcasing the richness of wildlife, this is Kyle’s location. It is feasible to go on game drives, canoe rides, fishing, hiking, and boat rides. An wonderful spot.

Days 12-13: Victoria Falls

Victoria Falls: The Dark Majesty

After your unforgettable Lower Zambezi experience, you’ll take a plane to Victoria Falls, where you’ll spend two nights at the world-renown Victoria Falls Hotel. After a warm welcome to Zimbabwe, Wilderness (Safaris) CEO Keith Vincent will have dinner with you and show you around his southern African playground. On the Zimbabwean side of Vic Falls, you’ll find the oldest and most majestic hotel, the Vic Falls Hotel. After exploring some of Africa’s most breathtaking game locations, take a moment to relax, contemplate, and feel the majesty of the waterfall. We have arranged a helicopter ride so you can see Victoria Falls from above, as it is often the best vantage point. During your tour to Victoria Falls, you will be accompanied by Sue Goatley, who is the head of Impact for the Zambezi region and the leader of the remarkable Children in the Wilderness project. The level of immersion in this safari is enhanced by gaining knowledge about CITW and the difficulties faced by the region.

Days 14-17: Okavango Delta

Botswana’s Okavango Delta – Heaven on Earth

We will take you on a scenic flight from Victoria Falls to the Okavango Delta, where you will discover Kweene Trails, one of the most secluded concessions in Botswana. Among Botswana’s exclusive private reserves, Kweene stands alone as the sole fully movable safari camp. Private reserves in Botswana are notoriously pricey, putting many people out of reach of the country’s renowned exclusivity. But Kweene has changed it all. In the western Okavango, in the Kweene River system, is Kweene Trails, which can only be reached by helicopter. This region is well-known for the resident groups of wild dogs and the vibrant lion population. Only the most experienced guides know this legendary Okavango wildlife watching spot. We are really smitten with this region. The owner and creator of Kweene, Simon Byron, is the best person to understand the nuances of the local flora and fauna. Kweene Trails and Simon, one of Botswana’s most famous guides, are currently all the rage in the country’s tourism sector.

Days 18-21: Cape Town

CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

After our time in Botswana, we’ll take a flight to Cape Town to wrap up our journey. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by Howie Owen, a private guide who is well regarded for his extensive knowledge of the Western Cape of South Africa and is widely considered to be the best in the industry. The boutique hotel Four Rosmead is right in the middle of everything, so we’ll be spending all four nights here. If we’re being really forthright, there are a plethora of choices here! Staying at the hotel and seeing the city like a local is the way to go. Howie will personalise your city experience to suit your every want. Private beach barbecues, Michelin-starred restaurants, and remote, off-the-beaten-path wineries. Visiting Cape Town is the last stop on our safari, which has been an incredible journey that has shown you the best of Africa.
