Little Kulala Lodge | Kulala Wilderness Reserve Namibia

Little Kulala is located in the Kulala Wilderness Reserve, a harsh and deeply healing environment of wide desert, limestone outcrops and enormous skies. It is one of the most convenient and comfortable ways of experiencing this portion of the Namib, with an exclusive-use gate providing direct access to Sossusvlei and Deadvlei. The lodge has a sleek, modern vibe yet it is all about the scenery and every element directs your gaze back to the dunes and the light and the vast silence beyond.

There are several ways to enjoy the desert here. You may set off early to the towering red dunes of Sossusvlei, walk or drive around the reserve in search of gemsbok, springbok, jackal and lesser desert creatures or explore the area on an e-bike or low-impact quad cycle. After dusk the Namib changes again, with stargazing and guided hikes offering a different side to the desert and Sesriem Canyon providing a stark contrast. Hot air ballooning is also provided for a greater perspective. And the landscape itself has genuine complexity, informed by decades of restoration on land that was originally utilised for goat husbandry and is now restored to a more natural state.

Intended to give the desert a constant view from the suites, which feature a separate family area for anyone vacationing with children aged 6 and upwards. Clean, modern lines surround the scenery, private plunge pools and rooftop terraces beckon for sundowners, open-air dinners or sleep-outs beneath an unfiltered sky. Shaded decks bring the outdoors in, extending living space and creating a simple indoor-outdoor flow. The ambiance throughout feels wide and private, each piece grounded in the surrounding desert, not set away from it.
