A Detailed 14-Day Cape Town, Kruger, Chobe & Victoria Falls Itinerary
Days 1-4: Discover the Mother City | 4 Nights
As you touch down in Cape Town and are greeted by your transfer driver at the arrivals terminal, your trip officially starts today. Just a short drive will get you to the heart of the city and the Queen Victoria Hotel at the V&A Waterfront, where you will be staying for the next four days.
To help you make the most of your visit, we have arranged a series of guided tours from this stunning hotel, and its prime location makes it easy to access all of the city’s top attractions.
The half-day city trip begins with a cable car ride up Table Mountain (weather permitting) and stops at key historical sites like the Company Gardens, St. Georges Cathedral, and the Castle of Good Hope, among others. When you’ve had your fill of the city, head out on the Cape Peninsula for a day of breathtaking landscapes and must-see attractions. Cape Town attractions including the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, Chapman’s Peak, Cape Point, Camps Bay, Clifton, Hout Bay, Simons Town, and Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens are sure to be a highlight.
Your journey will continue the following day as you embark on a full-day tour of the Cape Winelands. While taking in the breathtaking vistas of Cape Dutch architecture and landscapes, sample some excellent wines from South Africa.
Days 5-7: Search for the Big 5 | 3 Nights
You can get back to Cape Town International Airport and take a flight to Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport today via a vehicle transfer. The next day, you will have a road trip to the renowned Timbavati Game Reserve, which is adjacent to the renowned Kruger National Park, from Hoedspruit Airport. Spend the next three nights at Ngala Safari Lodge.
If you’re looking for a place to watch the Big 5 in action, go no further than Timbavati. Many visitors report seeing all five players on their first day. Amazing leopard sightings and large herds of buffalo are typicalplace in this region, which is famous for its diverse wildlife.

Day 8: Spend the Night in Johannesburg | 1 Nights
As you say goodbye to Timbavati Game Reserve today, you’ll be flying to Johannesburg, South Africa, and checking into the Fairlawns Boutique Hotel in the exclusive Sandton district. At the Fairlawns spa, you can relax with a customised treatment while sipping a drink in the beautifully landscaped gardens.
Days 9-11: Explore Chobe National Park | 3 Nights
After a thrilling flight this morning to Victoria Falls Airport, your journey continues with a transport to Chobe Game Lodge, where you will spend the next three nights. The lodge, nestled amid riverine woodlands in Botswana’s Chobe National Park, offers breathtaking views of the Chobe River and the Caprivi floodplains.
In addition to being a haven for birdwatchers, Chobe is teeming with wildlife, including sable antelope, puku, red lechwe, and elephant herds as well as predators like lions, leopards, and wild dogs. Viewing games in the late dry season (August–October) is second to none.
Indulge in exciting game drives in open-sided safari vehicles as you discover this magnificent location, or take a romantic sunset sail down the river while seeing wildlife.
Days 12-13: Enjoy Adventure at the Falls | 2 Nights
The Chobe bush is your temporary home for the next two nights as you make your way to the adjacent Victoria Falls. Your journey begins this morning. With breathtaking views of “The Smoke that Thunders,” this tented safari camp is located in a private wildlife concession near the Falls.
Regulars at the camp include the elephants, who are often spotted drinking from the waterhole or ambling around the camp’s perimeter.
All the exciting adventure activities, like white-water rafting on the Zambezi River, bungee jumping, beautiful flights, and peaceful river cruises, are right at your fingertips from your location near Victoria Falls.
Day 14: End of Your Adventure
Today marks the end of your journey as you depart Victoria Falls Airport and return to OR Tambo International Airport for your next destination.
