Mombo Camp – The Finest Safari Camp in Botswana
Mombo Camp is the Wilderness Safaris flagship resort, located in the heart of Botswana’s Okavango Delta. Mombo Camp is widely regarded as Africa’s finest safari camp, thanks to its extraordinary wildlife concentrations and interactions, as well as its distinct approach to luxury hospitality.
The goal of Mombo Camp, which was reconstructed in 2019, is to continue the Mombo traditions and history that date back nearly 30 years, as well as to honor possibly one of the biggest conservation successes: the restoration of black and white rhino into Botswana’s wilds.
Inspiration from the Okavango Delta
The nine big tented suites (including a family room) are elevated above the ground, allowing guests to enjoy the views from the veranda and pergola. Each tent was built in the same location as its predecessor, with a modest increase in size out towards the floodplain to accommodate a pool deck with a private plunge pool. A sitting area, separate bedroom and bathroom, indoor and outdoor showers, and a bathtub with copper and brass accents contribute to the Wilderness concept of responsible luxury.

Little Mombo is Mombo Camp’s smaller sibling camp. Along with Mombo, Little Mombo’s position on Chief’s Island within Moremi Game Reserve attracts a large quantity and variety of animals, making it a highly sought-after destination.
A Feeling for the Past and the Present
Mombo, in its entirety, is a camp that appears to dissolve into its surroundings, catching the essence, spirit, and emotion of its surroundings. By paying close attention to the finer details at Mombo, guests will notice a colonial undercurrent; sherry decanters, military chests, brass lamps, and writing desks, combined with a naturalist feel created by wicker furniture, reed blinds, porcupine lampshades, Kuba, and Show cloths, and original inspirations such as pygmy beds from the Congo that have been converted into coffee tables! The end product is an eclectic combination of old and contemporary that complements the diversity of Mombo’s surroundings while gently catering to every opulent desire.
