A Luxury 11-Day Tanzania Migration Safari Serengeti
The 11-Day Tanzania Migration Safari | Tarangire & Serengeti. An 11-day Great Migration safari in Tanzania typically covers the “Northern Circuit,” strategically timed to follow the movements of approximately two million wildebeest and zebra. While itineraries vary by season, they generally focus on extended game drives in the Serengeti, and Tarangire National Park.
During this incredible 11-Day Tanzania Migration Safari, you’ll stay at safari lodges that redefine luxury camping while visiting some of Tanzania’s top wildlife destinations. In addition to staying at a mobile camp in the Serengeti, where you are assured front-row seats to the Wildebeest Migration, you will also fly between camps, allowing you additional time on safari.
An intimate and stylish safari lodge nestled in a secluded region between Tarangire and Lake Manyara National Parks is the perfect starting point for your luxurious trip. Here you may have a personalised and adaptable experience while taking in breathtaking views of a waterhole, going on guided nature walks, and using private game drive vehicles.
Going on to the Serengeti, the largest and most famous plain in Tanzania, is the next stop on the safari route. Your adventure will begin in the park’s northern region, at a mobile safari camp. Guests have the opportunity to observe the mega-herds at any time of the year as the mobile camps migrate with the Wildebeest Migration, typically functioning in two to four places.
After three nights, you’ll be whisked away to Nyasi Migrational Camp in the Serengeti by charter flight to witness the Great Migration in action. In this area, you may go on exciting game drives and bush walks to see the Serengeti’s famous zebra and wildebeest herds, among other abundant animals.
Day 1: Karibu Sana! | 1 Nights
Your guide will be waiting to take you to Legendary Lodge as soon as you touch down at Kilimanjaro Airport. Legendary Lodge, with its picturesque location on a working coffee farm and verdant gardens, is an ideal overnight stop on the way to an exciting safari. Bask in the beauty of Tanzania’s second-highest peak, Mount Meru, from the comfort of your garden cottage’s private balcony. Sit back, unwind, and enjoy the peace and quiet that our one-of-a-kind location provides.
Day 2-5: Discover Tarangire | 3 Nights
A luxurious safari vehicle will whisk you away to the enchanted Tarangire National Park after breakfast at Legendary Lodge. Tarangire is a popular stop on the Northern Safari Circuit in Tanzania, known for its baobab trees, large elephant herds, and fantastic predator sightings. Chem Chem Lodge, a five-star eco-sanctuary in the park’s exclusive wildlife management area, will be your home for the duration of your stay. You may be sure that you will have a front-row seat to see the passage of animals passing through the region because the lodge is situated in a migratory corridor.
Get lost in the natural textures of your tent’s design and furnishings—wood, canvas, cotton, and lava rock—as you relax in its ample space. At Chem Chem, your privacy is our top priority, which is why we keep our neighbours at a distance of approximately 80 meters (87 yards). Indulge in your tent’s opulent bath, curl up with a good book in the reading nook, practise yoga on your private patio or just relax on your day bed to the soothing sounds of nature when you’re not out on exciting game drives or guided walks with Maasai warriors.
Day 5-8: Follow the Wildebeest Migration | 3 Nights
Your charter aircraft to the breathtaking Serengeti National Park will depart from an airport the next morning. Return to Nyasi Migrational Camp via a second road transfer (that also serves as a game drive!) after landing down in the bush. The mobile camps move to two different spots in the Serengeti throughout the year, following the Wildebeest Migration so that visitors can see the show from the comfort of their own chairs.
You won’t be living it up, though! The exquisite furnishings of your tent are a reflection of the natural world and made from sustainable, organic materials. Indulge in the Serengeti wilderness as you observe the largest mass terrestrial animal activity on Earth, while your bed linen and tent’s earthy colours capture the peacefulness of the surroundings.
Day 8-11: Explore More of the Serengeti | 3 Nights
Mwiba Wildlife Reserve, a stunning private reserve in the Southern Serengeti, is reached by another brief charter flight. An additional zenith of seclusion is offered by Mila Tented Camp. The camp is small (only five tents) and offers personalised safari vehicles and guides to each guest. What this implies is that you can go at your own speed when exploring the Serengeti.
Acacia trees, huge granite rocks, and five springs all contribute to the scenic setting of the camp. You can witness animals without leaving camp thanks to these springs, which draw them for water throughout the day. Activities such as guided walking safaris, bush breakfasts and lunches, day and night game drives, and genuine cultural encounters with the local Maasai people are the best ways to enjoy Mwiba Wildlife Reserve.
Day 11: Farewell Serengeti
Your 11-Day Tanzania Migration Safari Itinerary will continue after your last breakfast in the Serengeti on a different charter flight to Kilimanjaro Airport.
