Governors Camp Collection, Lodges, House, Africa Safaris, Reviews, Rates. For more than 40 years, Governors Camp Collection has led the way in safari travel. It was Africa’s first opulent, long-term tented camp when its canvas first flaked back in 1972 at the group’s flagship, eponymous camp in the Masai Mara. The inspiration for the project came from the desire to provide visitors with the enchanting experience of camping out in the bush, which was previously only available to the very wealthy.

Governors Camp Collection offers visitors the chance to have a true safari experience by immersing them in the wild while upholding the best traditions of the early days of safari. The camps provide unforgettable safari experiences that introduce visitors to the magnificent wildlife, pristine scenery, and vibrant people of these nations by establishing their properties in the heart of the best wildlife viewing areas of Kenya and Rwanda and collaborating closely with local communities.

Being at the forefront of sustainable eco-tourism, Governors’ Camp Collection understands that the local populations must gain from tourism in order to conserve these special wild places of Africa. This is why the team collaborates closely with the local population to raise their standards of living, healthcare, and education while simultaneously looking for novel, sustainable ways to meet their energy demands.

A unique and life-changing safari

Guests staying at any of the Governors’ Camp Collection sites will be treated to the thrilling pleasures of some of the world’s most magnificent wildlife spectacles while aiding in environmental preservation thanks to this focus on conservation and more than 40 years of experience in the safari industry.

Since its founding in 1972, the company has expanded to encompass four opulent camps, a farmhouse, a group of cottages, and a lodge on the slopes of the Virunga Volcanoes in Rwanda, in addition to a lodge in Kenya. However, Governors’ is most proud of giving guests the opportunity to unwind and listen to the sounds of the African bush at some of the best hotels in the world.

4 night safari with my mum

Myself and my mum stayed at Governors camp for 4 nights. I was expecting the safari to be amazing and I was not at all disappointed . The staff were very friendly and attentive, the food was prepared well and very tasty. Our guide was very passionate and knowledgable. The cleanliness of the camp was also very good our room was cozy and a perfect place to rest after our safari’s. Nothing seemed too much. Our drink and food waiter/waitress were always watching to make sure we had what we needed. The manager came to say hello and asked how our day was which I found very professional. The location was breathtaking and while dinning we were able to enjoy the views and animals from afar. Thank you to all at Governors camp. From Nicole Hoyle.

Amazing stay.
Friendly and smiling staff
Excellent location beside the river.
Knowledgeable game driver.
Very comfortable tent for our family of four (two adults and two children of 8 and 3.5 years old).
The proximity with animals was outstanding: elephants, wild boars, hippos.
My young daughter (3.5 years old) was a bit wild but fortunately the rangers were always careful and protective days and nights.
