A Detailed 13-Day South Africa And Mozambique | Cape Town, Kruger & Beach

Days 1-3: Explore Cape Town | 3 Nights

A representative will be waiting at the Cape Town International Airport to take you to the Cape Grace, your accommodation for the following three nights, when you arrive.

The Cape Grace, a magnificent hotel on the V&A Waterfront, is situated by the yacht marina and is within striking distance of the heart of Cape Town. In addition to a swimming pool, spa, wine cellar and first-rate whisky bar, it boasts stunning views of the port and Table Mountain.

With a customisable schedule that includes Robben Island, Table Mountain, and other city history stops, there’s a lot to look forward to. On the other hand, you can spend a full day seeing the Cape’s top attractions, like Cape Point, Chapman’s Peak drive, the penguin colony at Boulders Beach, Kalk Bay, the Constantia Winelands, and more. Your journey through southern Africa is only beginning.

Days 4-6: Seek Out the Big 5 | 3 Nights

Return to Cape Town International Airport in time for your scheduled flight to Skukuza Airport via Johannesburg after breakfast. Say goodbye to the Cape Grace. Your next stop is at Dulini River Lodge, and a representative is waiting to take you there.

In the Sabi Sands Game Reserve, at Dulini River Lodge, you may relax in a tent of the highest quality. Whether you prefer morning, lunchtime, or evening game drives or guided walking safaris, you’ll have a fantastic time observing wildlife under the shade of ebony trees as you look out over the Sand River. In addition to the best food and most discreet service, there are photographic walking safaris for those who are passionate about photography.

Day 7: Overnight in Johannesburg | 1 Nights

Your journey back to Johannesburg will begin with a final morning at the Sabi Sands before you make your way to Skukuza Airport. Staying at the Intercontinental Johannesburg OR Tambo Airport Hotel is a great idea because of its convenient location, just a short walk from arrivals. After your safari, this is the best time to relax and rejuvenate before hitting the beach. Relax with a swim or a spa treatment at the resort. Have supper at Quills Restaurant to round off the day.

Day 8: Fly to Paradise Across the Mozambique Channel | 5 Nights

Get on the plane to Vilanculos, Mozambique, as soon as you finish breakfast. You will be escorted to your helicopter by a representative, and the transfer to the Bazaruto Archipelago will take approximately 10 minutes. You will receive your first view of paradise across the Mozambique Channel when you bank over its sparkling silver-white dunes and arrive on tropical Benguerra Island, its palm trees rustling gently in the Indian Ocean air. Below, fishing dhows leisurely manoeuvre through the seas.

Enjoy a moment of tranquillity in your beachfront thatched en suite cabana before stepping out onto your patio to survey your surroundings. Your queen-sized bed, encased in mosquito netting, and the open-plan bathroom and outdoor shower are located behind you in this East African dream, which is characterised by the reds and rich terracottas that are characteristic of the Arabic tones. Just a few steps away from your private deck are the gentle waters of Benguerra Bay. Ilha de Benguerra is the second biggest island in the Bazaruto Archipelago. Benguerra Island Lodge is the perfect island retreat, situated on the protected north-west shore of the island, surrounded by palm trees and a natural acacia woodland.

Get a massage at the Sala Nela Spa after a leisurely stroll down the gentle, forgiving beaches. After a day of lounging in the shade of your thatched sala, cool off in the plunge pool. Then, take a leisurely stroll over to the Dhow Bar, which is actually an old wooden dhow that has been transformed into a bar. Sit back, listen to the waves lapping against the shore, and attempt to escape to another world as you listen to the whispers of the palm trees, hear the sun set over the ocean, and feel the tranquillity.

Days 9-12: Range Over the Corals of Two Miles Reef

Dive into the Two Miles Reef waters while painted shoals of light-reflected fish shimmer above you, and follow a hawksbill turtle as it glides calmly through a forest of perfect coral. From their rocky homes, clown fish peek out, while a moray eel gapes at you from its crevice over there.

Benguerra stands out as an underwater paradise for snorkelers and scuba divers due to the amount and variety of marine life, as well as the pristine beauty of the surrounding coral of the Bazaruto Archipelago. Meet with your dive instructor at the lodge’s state-of-the-art facility after breakfast to go over your plans for the day. You may swim alongside dolphins and manta rays while marvelling at the vibrant corals, lionfish slithering through fossilised trees, and snapper, barracuda, whale shark, and kingfish in the crystal-clear waters.

On the other side, you can take advantage of the lodge’s boats, which are well-equipped and manned by pleasant, experienced captains, to cast a line in the bay using light gear or cast a line over the reefs in the open ocean to see how good you get. Take a leisurely stroll down the shore or gallop gracefully along the water’s edge. After a long day, unwind in your private jacuzzi or read a book on the sun lounger. Then, as the sun sets, take a sunset sail on a traditional dhow adorned with pink flamingos, who will reflect the fading light.

Day 13: Bid Farewell

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Think about this as your chopper banks away towards Vilanculos, where you’ll connect to Johannesburg and continue your journey home. This is where there is zero change. Everything will be precisely the same when you return, from the palm palms that line its white sand beaches to the abundant acacia forest canopy and the fisherman dhows that sail across its waterways below. Just wait until the right time, and it will come to pass.
