7-Day Kenya Ol Pejeta And Masai Mara | Big Five, Great Migration & Chimps
This 7-day Kenya Ol Pejeta And Masai Mara safari highlights the contrast between the rhino-focused, conservation-driven Ol Pejeta Conservancy (1-2 nights) and the vast, big-cat-heavy plains of the Masai Mara National Reserve (3-4 nights). This route provides elite wildlife encounters, including endangered rhino and chimpanzees, along with unparalleled savannah game viewing.
Starting in Nairobi National Park, your amazing 7-Day Kenya Ol Pejeta And Masai Mara safari will take you by air to the Laikipia Plateau and the legendary Masai Mara, two of Kenya’s finest wildlife locations. One of the most breathtaking ways to experience Africa’s rich biodiversity is on a safari in Kenya.
Spend a restful night at an airport hotel to kick off your journey in Nairobi. Get some rest and rejuvenation at the hotel’s restaurant or pool before venturing out into the city. Carry on to Porini Rhino Camp in Laikipia’s Ol Pejeta Conservancy for Big 5 game drives and an additional stop at the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary for an up-close encounter with these sentient beings.
Last but not least, you’ll take a plane to the Masai Mara, a vast plain that hosts a wide range of large animals and is home to the Great Migration during certain times of the year. Whether you’re a seasoned safari pro or just starting out, this is the perfect vacation to see all the amazing wildlife that Kenya has to offer.
A Detailed 7-Day Kenya Ol Pejeta And Masai Mara
Days 1-2: Welcome to Kenya! | 1 Nights
After meeting you at Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, your guide will transport you to the Four Points By Sheraton Nairobi Airport Hotel. The best part is that there isn’t a long trip, and you’ll be in your hotel room in no time at all, ready for a soothing hot shower.
You could go to the restaurant for a bite to eat or the pool to spend a few hours relaxing on a lounger after you’ve settled in and freshened up. You may be able to schedule a half-day trip of some of Nairobi’s attractions, depending on when you arrive!
Days 2-3: Running with Rhinos | 2 Nights
You will be transferred to Nanyuki airfield by a charter flight from Wilson Airport, where you will reach after breakfast at the Nairobi Airport Hotel. A game drive into the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, home to Porini Rhino Camp, will be your first order of business once your guide picks you up. Located in a quiet valley with a view of a seasonal river, this small lodge has breathtaking views of Mount Kenya in the distance. After you are settled into your suite, you may enjoy a lovely high tea in the mess area. Then, it’s time to hop in your car for the afternoon game drive.
It is a thrilling experience to come across lions slumbering in the shade before their nightly hunt, and it is highly rewarding to encounter herds of buffalo and elephants in the wonderful light of early evening. This region is famous for its dense concentration of wildlife, which includes the Big 5. Additionally, you will be given the chance to see the sole chimpanzee refuge in Kenya. Indulging in the picturesque scenery and the earthy scents that come with it makes you feel at home, as if you’ve been here the whole time. Predator birds soar over the skies, giraffes meander through the meadows like sentinels, and herds of antelope munch on grass.
Days 4-6: Masai Mara Adventures | 3 Nights
Staying at Porini Lion Camp for two nights is on the agenda. This eco-friendly, small camp in the Olare Motorogi Conservancy provides an unusual combination of eco-luxury and eco-friendly practices. The roomy and elegantly furnished tents are perfect for a relaxing getaway, and they come with convenient amenities like private toilets and verandas where you can take in the stunning scenery.
Your stay at the camp will provide an unforgettable safari experience while also contributing to the preservation of the local ecosystem and communities. This is made possible by the camp’s eco-friendly initiatives, including as solar electricity, composting toilets, and community involvement.
The intimate wildlife encounters offered by Porini Lion Camp are one of its main characteristics. When you find yourself in a private conservancy, you gain access to a huge area that is home to a wide variety of animals. Thanks to its small size and lack of mass tourists, Porini Lion Camp offers an unforgettable safari experience. Guests may immerse themselves in nature and make lasting memories of Kenya’s incredible animals.
