Luxury Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge, Serengeti National Park

Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge is an exceptional establishment where private pools are standard, and the hospitality experience is comparable to the safari experience itself.

Adjacent to the Mara River, which delineates the Serengeti from Kenya’s Maasai Mara, this lodge serves as an excellent choice for observing the Great wildebeest migration from July to October, catering to visitors who prefer a more conventional accommodation over the adventurous tented mobile camps.

The lodge is owned and managed by Lemala Authentic Camps and Lodges. This company provides premium lodging across the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The lodging is reserved on a full-board arrangement, encompassing all meals, a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, game drives, the Lemala Cubs initiative, Wi-Fi, and laundry services.

Kindly be informed that this lodge remains closed throughout April and May.

Activities At Lemala Kuria Hills Lodge

Kuria Hills Lodge provides professionally guided game drives, seasonal walking safaris, and the Lemala Cubs initiative.

  • Expertly guided game drives: Game drives are offered in the early morning and late afternoon into the evening.
  • Great Wildebeest Migration: Visiting from July to October will allow you to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration, as the area constitutes a segment of the path traversed by vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and gazelles in pursuit of sustenance. A significant feature during this era is observing the herds’ remarkable crossings of the River Mara. Large Nile crocodiles lie in the turbulent waters, poised to capture any unsuspecting herbivore in their powerful jaws.
  • Wildlife spotting: The breathtaking terrain of this section of the Serengeti hosts an abundance of species. This location features four of the Big Five species: lion, rhinoceros, leopard, and elephant, in addition to cheetah, spotted hyena, numerous plains game, and hundreds of bird species.
  • Walking safaris: The lodge also provides walking safaris. These entail an extra expense and are unfeasible in June; however, if you succeed in traversing the Serengeti, you will be well rewarded—it is optimal for observing the flora, insect fauna, and avifauna of the national park.
  • Activities for children: The Lemala Cubs program provides numerous activities for children, including as tracking with guides, learning spear-throwing techniques from native Maasai, and listening to African legends around the campfire.

Note: This property is unfenced and situated in a wildlife region, allowing huge and potentially hazardous animals to traverse the vicinity. If you want to remain here, remain vigilant while traversing the camp and solicit a staff member to accompany you if you have any apprehensions. All guests are accompanied after dusk as a standard procedure.

Serengeti Safaris

The Serengeti, renowned for the Great Wildebeest Migration, is also the habitat of the Big 5. This annual show involves millions of wildebeest, accompanied by gazelles and zebras, migrating in search of greener pastures while evading predators.

Their circuitous trip proceeds south into the Serengeti, then westward, subsequently north into the Maasai Mara, before returning to the origin. Predators stealthily follow, seizing opportunities to strike, rendering this voyage replete with thrilling wildlife encounters.

The Serengeti is poised for dramatic events, featuring diverse terrain that includes volcanic grasslands, expansive plains, rocky outcrops, meandering rivers, and woodlands.
