Laba Fanjove Island. Luxury Fanjove Private Island, Tanzania

Fanjove is a rare private island that offers exceptional value for money. A diminutive isle, around a coral reef south of Dar es Salaam, Fanjove offers all the attributes one desires from a private island: pristine white beaches, warm waters, and a forested interior resonating with avian melodies. This exclusive and stylish lodge features only six individual suites, making it perfect for travellers seeking privacy, honeymooners, and those desiring bush-and-beach retreats. Offshore, stunning reefs offer visibility of 20 meters (66 feet), alongside pods of inquisitive bottlenose and spinner dolphins, and transient sandbanks ideal for a picnic lunch. Be vigilant for endangered green turtles and migrating humpback whales.

Fanjove is a site that invites you to engage in activities according to your inclination, whether minimal or extensive. One can snorkel or kayak directly from the beach, partake in a sunset dhow sail, embark on a scuba diving expedition, or simply relish a leisurely stroll about the island. Aside from the amiable personnel from the adjacent Songosongo Island, Fanjove is exclusively occupied by you and your fellow guests; an antiquated lighthouse and a few transient fishermen are the scant reminders of the external world.

The lodge’s architects collaborated with ecologists to construct sophisticated, pleasant lodging that minimally impacts the environment. Your suite is powered by solar energy and constructed from conventional building materials; a significant portion of the water is collected from rainfall and desalinated from the adjacent Indian Ocean. The atmosphere is tranquil, serene, and elegant, ideal for couples seeking a beach getaway in Africa.

Fanjove Island is among Tanzania’s most exclusive coastal getaways. This island is encircled by pristine, powdery white sand beaches and the transparent waters of the Indian Ocean, featuring a vast lagoon and 11 kilometres of coral reef. It offers exceptional value, and we strongly endorse it for those seeking an unblemished island experience in stunning surroundings.

This is an exceptionally enjoyable private island experience! Clients can anticipate a lodge that is exceedingly comfortable yet has an adventurous essence.

Access & Location:

The site is exceptionally breathtaking. Fanjove Island is one of the six little islands in the Songo Songo Archipelago, located off the coast of Tanzania. Access is via plane to the adjacent island, Songo Songo, followed by a 30-minute boat trip.
