7-Day Botswana Eco Safari | Linyanti, Okavango Delta & Moremi

A 7-day Botswana eco-safari typically centers on Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve, focusing on sustainable tourism and low-impact exploration.

Indulge in seven days of ecotourism in two of Botswana’s most renowned game areas, where you’ll stay in posh campgrounds. You can have extra time on safari and get a bird’s-eye perspective of the incredible Okavango Delta’s network of waterways by flying between camps. There is no better place to go on an eco-luxury safari in Africa than this.

The Linyanti Wildlife Reserve is a haven for birdwatchers and is situated in the middle of a vital wildlife corridor that connects Angola, Botswana, Namibia, and Zambia. Discover the reserve’s big elephant population and predators like lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, and uncommon wild dogs on daily game drives. Next up is the immaculate Okavango Delta, where you can enjoy both land-based wildlife drives and water safari activities including as boat and mokoro (dug-out canoe) trips. Unparalleled luxury on an eco-safari.

This 7-Day Botswana luxury eco safari is perfect for those who want to do their part for the environment without compromising comfort. Explore unspoiled refuges whose sole purpose is to protect rare ecosystems and learn about initiatives that are helping the locals in the areas surrounding some of Africa’s most breathtaking wildlife parks reap the rewards of ecotourism.

A Detailed 7-Day Botswana Eco Safari

Days 1-2: A Birdwatcher’s Paradise | 2 Nights

A smaller charter plane will whisk you out into the jungle when you touch down at Botswana’s Maun Airport. When you land at Chobe Airstrip, you’ll feel an electric surge of exhilaration since you’re in the middle of true Africa! When you arrive at the first camp on an eco-friendly luxury safari in Botswana, your driver/guide will be prepared to take you there. During the transfer, you will also go on your first wildlife drive, so keep an eye out for the renowned elephant herds in Chobe.

Overlooking an oxbow lagoon in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, King’s Pool will be your home for the next two nights. This five-star eco-camp is located on a river that attracts elephants and provides a home for a wide variety of birds. The camp runs entirely on solar energy, and each of the eight plush tented rooms has a large bedroom, living room with a door leading to a veranda, and a bathroom with a shower that is as private as the forest surrounding it.

Experience the wonders of Linyanti’s nocturnal experts on night game drives, and the morning and afternoon game drives to learn about the park’s fauna. Famous animals found in Linyanti include elephants, lechwe, giraffes, buffalo, and predators including lions, leopards, cheetahs, wild dogs, and hyaenas. Not to mention the birds!

Days 3-4: A Real-Life Garden of Eden | 2 Nights

Go right to the Okavango Delta, Botswana’s crown jewel, on your next flight. The Delta is a sensory delight and is often believed to be one of the last remaining wilderness locations in Africa.

Vumbura Plains is an eco-friendly luxury hideaway that prioritises your comfort and relaxation from the moment you step foot on the property. You may enjoy serene views of the plains beyond even the walls of your gigantic private shower, which is built from glass that extends from floor to ceiling. In addition to the camp’s dining and safari areas, there is a pool area where guests may relax with a swim or a nice book while waiting for their turn to enjoy the water.

Days 5-6: An Aquatic Oasis | 2 Nights

You can reach the Moremi Game Reserve in the Delta from the northern portion of the Delta with just a short flight. From above, you can see the expansive grasslands, winding canals, and wildlife, including crocodiles, elephants, and hippos, that make up this enormous inland delta. Upon arrival at Mombo Camp, the elevated main area is the first thing that catches the eye. Its modern and fresh design allows wildlife below to freely roam.

The best way to see the “Venice of safari” is from the water in a dugout canoe, or mokoro. As your guide softly steers your “game drive vehicle” around streams bordered by papyrus and water lilies, you’ll get the chance to see intriguing little species like waterbirds and colourful frogs that inhabit the Delta. However, if you’re up for an adventure, a boat ride will take you to the deeper channels and farther-off canals where the raucous hippos reign.

Day 7: A Fond Farewell, Botswana

Take in the breathtaking views of the Delta as you and your guide make your way back to the airstrip for your last charter aircraft to Maun. It will make you long for your next safari in Africa!
