A Detailed 7-Day Zimbabwe Safari Itinerary
Days 1–3: Victoria Falls
Your 7-Day Zimbabwe Safari vacation starts on day one with a flight landing at Victoria Falls Airport. You’ll spend two nights at Victoria Falls River Lodge in Zimbabwe. A magnificent home with lush, airy apartments and free-standing baths with views over the Zambezi! The decor is very sleek and spacious in neutral colours to complement the surroundings. The food is fantastic, the main sections are wonderfully equipped and open plan with glorious decking to make the most of the views, and you may even see a few local elephants walking by! There is plenty to do here and pleasant staff members will help plan the tours you chose to do. These include game drives (although perhaps leave this for the better Hwange!), river cruises, birdwatching, fishing, a plethora of watersports, village excursions, horse trails, helicopter and micro-light flights. Victoria Falls is one of the best places to visit in Africa, and it is full of activities.
Days 3–7: Hwange National Park
On Day 3 you will be transferred to Wilderness Linkwasha to explore the south-eastern section of the park. Wilderness Linkwasha is the best of the camps in Hwange National Park. It is situated in an area of prime game, just within the Linkwasha Concession and a short distance from the game-rich Ngamo Plains. There’s a watering hole that’s active all year and your safari experience here is intimate and flexible. You might also like to take a cultural tour to one of the communities on the edge of the park’s boundary — it’s always intriguing to meet the people who live in the area. It’s a fantastic area to see all kinds of species in the park for birdwatchers. Keep an eye out for Dickinson’s kestrel or Bradfield’s hornbill! This is a great part of Hwange and this camp really has it all – lovely rooms, good food, great service, great guides and loads of animals!
