A Detailed 7 Days in Tanzania Itinerary
Day 1: A Lakeside Retreat | 1 Nights
Arusha, Tanzania
Your guide will take you through gently undulating agricultural land until the road rises steeply into the cooler air of a Rift Valley escarpment and your overnight lodging, Lake Manyara Lodge. The trip begins in the afternoon in Arusha. All you need to do now is unwind because you have a game drive booked for the following day. The lodge offers panoramic views, a rim-flow pool, and a lounge with a view of Lake Manyara. Guests are often rewarded with breathtaking sunsets, making it the ideal place to begin your safari.
Day 2-3: From Manyara to the Serengeti Plains
SAFARI in TANZANIA: Lake Manyara with TREE CLIMBING LIONS and Elephant PARADISE!
This morning is an early start; your first destination is Lake Manyara National Park, where there is a lot to see. The park, which is centred around a lake full of hippo, is home to giraffes, buffalo, elephants, and lions. At times, pink rafts of flamingos cover the area. After lunch at the resort, you continue on to the Serengeti National Park and Serengeti Serena resort, where you will spend the next two nights.
You spend the following day on the savannah, taking in the Serengeti’s drama during morning and afternoon drives. All year long, there is great game viewing in this big game country. Additionally, you can visit during the annual wildebeest migration, when about two million animals gather in the region. These animals are harassed by predators on all sides, making for exciting and unvarnished game viewing.
Day 4-5: Explore the Ngorongoro Crater | 2 Nights
Serengeti, Tanzania
After breakfast, you travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area by car via the Serengeti plains, stopping occasionally for a picnic lunch and to see wildlife. Your objective is the Ngorongoro Crater, the biggest intact volcanic crater in the world. It is also known as the location of Africa’s densest concentration of huge animals. First, you have time to take in the breathtaking views from your lodging at Ngorongoro Serena Lodge, one of the few lodges situated on the rim of the Crater itself. The following day, your guide leads a full-day safari, heading down into the crater to look for the Big 5 of Ngorongoro (leopard, lion, elephant, rhino, and buffalo), along with a variety of plains wildlife, spotted hyena, and hippo.
Day 6: Time for Tarangire | 2 Nights
Ngorongoro Crater, Tanzania
You Won’t Believe What Happened on our Tanzania Safari (Ngorongoro Crater)
You head south from the Ngorongoro region to Tarangire National Park and Tarangire Sopa Lodge, which is nestled among granite boulders and the park’s distinctive baobab trees. You get there in time for lunch, after which you start exploring. Tarangire is home to Tanzania’s largest herds of elephants as well as lions that have taken up the very cute habit of scaling trees, if only to escape the heat. With an astounding 550 bird species recorded, Tarangire is a birdwatcher’s delight. You may also spot animals like the long-necked gerenuk that are not typically found in the northern savannahs. Back at camp, you can enjoy free Wi-Fi in public spaces and a swimming pool.
Day 7: The Journey Ends
Your guide drives slowly through the park for a final wildlife sighting or two after breakfast at the lodge. After leaving Tarangire, you travel through a region of plantations and thatched cottages before reaching Arusha at around noon. After you make contact with your next travel plans, the tour comes to an end.
