7-Day Namibia Itinerary | Etosha, Kaokoveld & Skeleton Coast

The 7-Day Namibia itinerary covering Etosha, Kaokoland, and the Skeleton Coast is a thrilling, action-packed route spanning Namibia’s most diverse landscapes. It combines incredible wildlife, rugged desert-adapted ecosystems, and profound indigenous cultural encounters.

This 7-Day Namibia Itinerary takes you to three of the best places in the country, showcasing the beautiful scenery and unique animals found in the north. You may see lions, elephants, and rhinos in their natural habitats, away from the madding throngs, at this private game reserve that is adjacent to Etosha National Park. Setting in the breathtaking Kaokoveld and leaving barely a footprint in this dry, raw, but lovely terrain, your next lodging carries on the concept of exclusivity. You may see the breathtaking night skies, a characteristic of the Kaokoveld, while also meeting local residents and tracking uncommon and odd desert wildlife.

At your last stop, you’ll hear the pounding of the waves. Shipwreck Lodge, the sole place to stay in Skeleton Coast National Park, offers visitors a rare opportunity to explore one of Africa’s most remote and unspoiled regions. A breathtakingly stunning scene of sky, sea, and sand, the Atlantic coast of Namibia is home to strewn whale bones and abandoned shipwrecks and is patrolled by roving brown hyenas and lions.

With a mix of road transfers and flights between camps, this 7-Day Namibia Itinerary offers a well-rounded experience while providing luxury en suite accommodation throughout. Even if the lodgings are in distant and wild places, you still have access to modern conveniences like electricity, Wi-Fi, and places to charge your devices, not to mention delicious food. This 7-Day Namibia Itinerary is perfect for honeymooners and couples on a special excursion thanks to its picturesque scenery and cosy accommodations, but it also works well for families travelling across generations.

A Detailed 7-Day Namibia Itinerary

Day 1-3: A Private Safari | 2 Nights

Your 7-Day Namibia Itinerary begins with two nights at the Safarihoek Lodge, located on a private 60,000-acre (24, 000-hectare) game reserve. The Etosha Heights Private Reserve, situated on a hilltop overlooking the expansive northern savannah of Namibia, is teeming with wildlife, including lions, giraffes, black and white rhinos, and elephants. In addition to morning and afternoon game drives, you may also enjoy guided walks and spot-lit night drives in this quiet environment. Photographers will love the camp’s hide, which is expertly positioned over the illuminated waterhole and provides excellent close-up shots, particularly in the late afternoon and evening.

Day 3-5: A Mountain Wilderness | 2 Nights

As you depart from the savannah and go west into Namibia’s Kaokoveld region, take it easy on the scenic drive. Surrounded by element-blasted mountains and fractured river valleys, the Kaokoveld is a hauntingly beautiful scenery. It is also one of the most sparsely populated locations in the country. Hoanib Valley Camp is where you’ll be staying, and it has a view of a wonderful verdant strip that follows a desert river and is home to a diverse array of animals. Here, on game drives or on foot with a local Himba guide, you can look for elephant, lions, and desert-adapted giraffe. The lodge is so far away from civilisation that guests may relax while taking in breathtaking views of the night sky.

Day 5-7: Discover the Skeleton Coast | 2 Nights

An artistically appointed apartment with a view of the frigid, unyielding Atlantic Ocean on Namibia’s notorious Skeleton Coast awaits you at the end of another picturesque drive. Sea, sky, and sand blend beneath a hazy sun as the horizons alter around Shipwreck Lodge. Enjoy activities like quad biking and sand boarding while taking in the grandeur of an unspoiled wilderness and searching for rare coastal animals like scavenging brown hyenas. In your cosy accommodation at camp, you’ll find amenities like an en suite bathroom, a wood-burning stove to keep you warm, Wi-Fi, solar-powered lights and a station to charge your batteries.

Day 7: The Journey Ends

The 7-Day Namibia Itinerary comes to a close following breakfast at Shipwreck Lodge. If you need assistance with your next steps or would like to discuss potential itinerary extensions, please don’t hesitate to ask.
