A Detailed 3-Day Gorilla Trekking Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park

Day 1 — Volcanoes National Park

Arrive at Kigali airport and straight transfer to the lodge. If you arrive late in the day you will need to add a pre-night in Kigali, let us know if we need add an overnight to the trip. You will be collected from the airport by vehicle transfer to the lodge. Check in and relax. Take a walk around the gardens, enjoy the environment surrounding you. You can speak to the staff at the lodge to organise optional activities like tasting coffee, chocolate and wine or hire a bike and pedal the area. Dinner included and enjoy an early night in preparation for your adventure tomorrow.

Day 2 — Volcanoes National Park

Get up early and be sure to be at Park Headquarters on time for the briefing. The separate group is allocated by the park rangers (you can walk for several hours depending on the gorillas location) and you set off on the most wonderful trek to look for the mountain gorillas. Once identified, you will have only one hour of observation for the purpose of ensuring the long-term viability of the gorillas population. You’ll get to see young apes playing together, mothers feeding, and silverbacks watching over their troop. Return to the base and transfer back to the lodge. The rest of the day is at leisure. Lunch and dinner at the lodge. ** this is a wildlife experience and is subject to weather and gorilla movements**

Day 3 — End Of Itinerary

Breakfast and departure. Today you are transferred by road back to Kigali airport in time for your further departure (flight should not be earlier than early afternoon to allow for the travel back). Fly home or call us to extend your journey.
