A Detailed 11-Day Kenya Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Relax in Kenya’s Capital City | 1 Nights

A driver will be waiting for you at the arrivals area of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport so that you can be driven to the 5-star Hemingways Nairobi. Situated in the charming Karen district, it stands on a large lot with perfectly manicured symmetrical gardens and plantation-style architecture.

Depending on your arrival time, you have the option to take a half-day excursion and explore the city during your one night here before your 11-Day Kenya Safari starts. Stop by the Karen Blixen Museum to see the beautifully landscaped gardens, a traditional bead market, and the Giraffe Centre to see the long-necked creatures.

As the sun sets over the trees, savour an unforgettable dinner on the terrace of the Brasserie while taking in the spectacular scenery. We have a wide variety of excellent wines to complement any dish, whether it’s seafood, pasta, soup, or any other hearty dish.

Day 2-4: Visit the Protected Wilderness of Kenya | 3 Nights

You will be driven to Wilson Airport for your flight to Lewa Downs Airstrip after breakfast. After you touch down, a helpful guide will transport you to the magnificent Lewa Wilderness Lodge, where you will spend the first three nights of your safari. In your thatched cottage, take comfort in the crackling heat of the fireplace.

Situated on 62,000 acres of private concession in the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy, the lodge provides an exclusive entry to the region’s wild landscapes. In your quest to spot endangered species like the Grevy’s zebra and rare black rhino, you’ll go on foot through the reserve’s acacia trees and in a game vehicle across the wide grasslands.

Also, if you’re interested in seeing these dynamic landscapes from a different angle, consider going on a panoramic aerial trip aboard a vintage biplane. The conservation area takes great pride in its various species and offers visitors the opportunity to stroll alongside brave anti-poaching dogs. They also invite visitors to visit the picturesque Ngwesi village and interact with the residents.

Enjoy a game of tennis or a swim in the saltwater infinity pool when you get back to the lodge. Then, indulging in a supper while taking in the views of the African bush in the open-air dining area is the perfect way to unwind.

Day 5-7: A Charming Countryside Retreat | 3 Nights

After a brief car ride the following morning, you’ll arrive at Olepangi, a small village where you can stay three nights in comfortable, individually decorated cottages.

Starting the day off right is the norm; a typical breakfast consists of homemade yoghurt, fresh fruit, and tasty honey collected from the neighbourhood beehive. Enjoy your yoga practices on the deck while gazing out over the beautifully landscaped 120 acres of the homestead.

Being a working farm, you’ll have the opportunity to assist the staff with their everyday responsibilities. Help out in the organic garden or try your hand at milking cows for an exciting new experience. Skilled cooks are also available to show you how to produce butter that has been churned at home so that it melts on top of warm, freshly baked bread.

On a lazy afternoon, you may go horseback riding in the paddock or take a guided tour of the beautiful gardens to learn about the eco-friendly methods used on the farm. A variety of luxurious beauty services, such as soothing massages and elegant pedicures, are also available for your indulgence. As you wind down for the night, savour the handmade dishes made with care from the organic produce of the day while sitting by the warm fire.

Day 8-10: Witness the Great Wildebeest Migration | 3 Nights

Your last morning in Laikipia County will be followed by a transfer to Nanyuki Airstrip, where you will board an aircraft to Naboisho Conservancy. Your final three nights at the private Naboisho Camp will be reached after another road transfer. Because of its location in a private concession that borders the world-renowned Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya in an uncontrolled manner, the camp provides animals with unrestricted access to the reserve.

The reserve’s beautiful savanna plains can be explored on foot on guided walking safaris or adventurous game drives. Nighttime spotlit game drives offer an opportunity to witness animals that are active only at night; the reserve is famous for being a safe haven for large cats. Once in a while, take advantage of your private porch and a soft daybed to watch the stars while sipping a sunset in peace.

A once-in-a-lifetime hot-air balloon adventure across the sky is available for an extra fee. From July through November, you may experience the awe-inspiring spectacle of the Maasai Mara, as millions of wildebeest thunderously cross the open plains.

Day 11: Your Kenya Trip Ends

You will be driven back to the Nanyuki airfield for your journey to Wilson Airport after spending one last morning in the wilderness. Your next stop will be Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, which may be reached via a car transfer once you arrive.
