Day 1: Kigali, Rwanda – Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda

After a brief safari briefing, your professional safari guide and driver will greet you at your hotel or at the Kigali International Airport in Rwanda. You will then visit the Kigali Genocide Museum before being transferred to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in Uganda. Including crossing the border, the travel from Kigali to Travelers Rest Hotel takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Transfer to the ranger station for gorilla trekking after an early breakfast. Following a briefing on the dos and don’ts of gorilla interaction, you will go into the forest with a senior ranger guide in search of gorillas. After you locate them, you will be permitted to spend an hour with them. Afterward, you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park (Optional)

Today, going on a second gorilla trek is a choice. To take part, you must purchase a $700 Gorilla Trekking permit. A cultural stroll to visit the community of the Batwa/Pygmies would be an alternative to going gorilla trekking.

If the second gorilla trek is what you’ve chosen, transfer to the ranger station for the briefing after an early-morning meal. Here, you’ll meet the senior ranger guide who will go over the dos and don’ts of engaging with gorillas. This comes after a trip through the forest looking for gorillas. Once you locate them, you will be permitted to spend an hour with them. After the experience, go back to the resort. Stay the night at Rushaga Gorilla Lodge or a similar location.

Day 4: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Uganda – Kigali, Rwanda

A leisurely breakfast while enjoying the scenery of the forest as it breezes through the mist. Btw, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park has occasionally been referred to as Gorilla in the Mist, and because of this, you might get the impression that during breakfast, gorillas might be protruding in the mist, haha. Your journey will come to a close with a transfer back to Kigali after which you will leave the lovely forest in the care of the gorillas. You will be dropped off at your hotel or the airport in preparation for your departure.
